Offline Editing
I have edited everything from documentaries, reality, promos, title sequences, music videos, to fast turnaround sports highlights. Whether it be for digital or social media, or to broadcast to an audience of millions, I am equally at home.
I am also well equipped in my own office to edit remotely on either Adobe Premiere Pro or Avid Media Composer.
Online Editing
My editing career started back in 1991 with the Sony 910 Edit Controller and soon after I moved on to the CMX340 in linear edit suites, and have experience numerous systems since, giving me a thorough knowledge of technical standards required to meet any broadcast deliverable.
My office system is perfectly equipped to online your programme, with a professional 10-bit video monitor and studio audio monitors, you can be sure I can deliver your programme to broadcast standards, including EBU128R.
Grading
Over the years I have graded a vast number of items for television. From grading as I edit on fast turn around sports productions, to working as a colourist on Prime Time Australian television, and numerous UK programmes, you can be confident that I will strive to get the best out of each and every shot. Whether it is giving your content a look, or image correction, with a thorough understanding of colourimetry I am at ease with either.
I am fully equipped to grade your programme in my office using Adobe Lumetri in Premiere Pro, and Avid Media Composer, along with the full Red Giant suite including Magic Bullet and Colorista. Using a range of scopes and my 10-bit monitor you can be confident of a well balance, consistent, and broadcast legal final product.
Audio Mixing
Many television programmes have been mixed whilst editing to a high standard, complying with broadcast requirements, in the edit suite. This is especially useful on fast turnaround content where this isn’t the time to go to a dubbing suite. I have a good understanding of the EBU 128R standards, and have supervised training in this standard to a number of other editors.
My system includes flat response audio monitors allowing me to create a quality sound mix ensuring a balanced and smooth final product that complies broadcast delivery standards.
Workflows
Workflows are a passion, whether it be helping a single programme work out the best process to get from production to delivery, or managing the workflow for 103 edit/gfx suites at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, my experience can help you improve efficiency and minimise costs.
In 2020, with the global Covid-19 pandemic I was instrumental in the design and implementation of a number of remote workflows to allow teams of editors to work remotely to deliver programming of a high standard.
In 2024, I started consulting on the Olympic Games, which menas I am currently involved in every Euro tournament, FIFA World Cup and Olympic Games.
Training
Over the years I have provided a range of training for different clients. Back in my early days I provided video tape, editing and 3D Studio Max training for staff at Network Ten. Over the past few years I have provided Adobe Premiere Pro training to clients such as HBS, Discovery, Global, IMG & Buzz16. I also provide training for Red Giant Software and have hosted training sessions for Red Giant customers including New York Mets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, The Canadiens, Major League Baseball and United Soccer League.
