My role at this event was to cut content that was delivered to the broadcast partners using Adobe Premiere Pro, further develop and test workflows and templates, and also experiment with new concepts with the production team on new deliverables. Two new deliverables were born at this event. The first was the short music based match highlights, which differed from the tradition short-form highlights as these were cut to music, and focused on ISO and unseen angles of the incidents, peppered with close up crowd reactions, but still delivered a short time after the final whistle. This became a feature of the content delivered by HBS at the 2018 World Cup. The second new item was a statics based preview to a match, that was not delivered at this event but was developed for use in 2018. Since this event the Stats and Facts idea has been used at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, the 2019 and 2023 Rugby World Cups, and even UEFA have made a similar deliverable at the EUROs in 2020 and 2024.
